	Once upon a time as FDS Textil Hamburg - as well as all German importers - were looking for first class 60/60" 20/20 ne 50" cotton goods, we had to visit at least twice a year the export manager Mr. Abdul Rahim Suriya of Dawood/Burewala. Huge quantities have been contracted and shipped throughout the year. Although Mr. Suriya was always very very busy and always a little under severe control of "big boss" (and my later good fatherly friend) Mr. Ahmed Dawood, we all could rely on the word of Mr. Suriya. Though always very short of time a friendly "khusch amded" was always given. Many years later - many more different goods than Burewala cotton were produced in Pakistan - Suriya Textiles were founded and Mr. Suriya established a very effective and reliable agency and he worked soon together with his son Imran. From that period onwards a normal business friendship developed to a real personal-family-friendship in harmony with huge profitable business for all partners. We importers had and have hundreds of partners and friends around the world and I'm still impressed that business, peace and friendship was and is possible with every human being no matter which religion or race.
